An exciting opportunity has become available for a salaried GP to join our experienced and diverse team at Whitley Road Medical Centre.
The practice is offering up to 8 sessions .
Salary Negotiable dependent on experience
We also have an acute home visiting service run by highly skilled specialist nurses you can refer into.
The Surgery
We are based in North Manchester, very close to the city centre and we manage a patient list size of 6418 patients.
The practice is very friendly and has a supportive administrative and clinical team. Our clinical team currently consists of 3 GP partners, 2 Salaried GP`s ,1 Practice Nurse, 1 Physician Assistant, 2 Pharmacists and a Pharmacy Tech, 1 Nursing Associate, 1 Healthcare Assistant, 2 Mental Health Practitioners, and a First Contact Physiotherapist.
The Admin Team consists of a Practice Manager, Data Manager, Secretary, Office manager and 7 Reception staff.
We use EMIS Web, Docman, and Accurx and have a "Good" CQC rating with Outstanding for Well Led in April 2025 and a high QOF achievement. We are also actively involved with the Primary Care Network and in the training of medical students.

No evenings or weekends
1 day on call till 6.30 pm

Main duties of the job
To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the GMS contract.
Furthermore, the post holder will adhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to the effective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining a positive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.
Job description
The following are the core responsibilities of the Salaried GP. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
a. The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population
b. The provision of services commensurate with theGMS/contract
c. Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance
d. Effective management of long-term conditions
e. Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks
f. On a rotational basis, undertake telephone triage and duty doctor roles
g. Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance
h. Work collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload
i. Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process
j. Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice
k. Accept delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) or the QOF
l. Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required
m. Contribute effective to the development and maintenance of the practice including clinical governance and training
n. Ensure compliance with the appraisal process
a. Prepare and complete the revalidation process
b. Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team
c. Support the training of medical students from all clinical disciplines
d. Support the partners in achieving the strategic aims of the practice, making recommendations to enhance income and reduce expenditure
e. Review and always adhere to practice protocols and policies
f. Encourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, always promoting a culture of continuous improvement
In addition to the primary responsibilities, the salaried GP may be requested to:
a. Participate in practice audits as requested by the audit lead
b. Participate in local initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient care
c. Participate in the review of significant and near-miss events applying a structured approach i.e., root cause analysis (RCA)
