Job summary

An opportunity has arisen within our team for a band 4 Specialty Coordinator. You will be responsible for providing and managing an efficient and effective full administration service.

Main duties of the job

  • To co-ordinate and be responsible for the provision of a comprehensive secretarial and administrative services to the Consultants and the wider team.
  • Day to day management of the Consultants diaries eg organising clinic commitments, arranging appointments and theatre lists, where appropriate.
  • To arrange special investigations and action other issues arising from clinic appointments, ensuring that all tasks are dealt with in order according to their urgency
  • To ensure patient referral letters, clinical reports, correspondence, investigation results etc are available for preparation of clinics
  • Responsible for ensuring that the National and Trust 'Referral to Treatment' (RTT) timescales are adhered to.
  • Monitor clinical bookings to ensure that clinic times are fully utilized keeping patients informed of any changes. Be responsible for the re-organisation of cancellations delegating suitable duties where appropriate.
