Job summary
To work with the multi-disciplinary stroke team in the implementation and progression of stroke rehabilitation programmes.
To enable patients to achieve their optimum level of independence in mobility and activities of daily living.
To be primarily responsible for the continuation of rehabilitation programmes during weekdays, weekends and bank holidays.
The post holder will participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary team assisting with specified duties and to take responsibility for planning his/her own work duties.
Main duties of the job
- Post stroke cognitive assessment.
- Assessment of functional ADL (activities of daily living).
- Ordering of equipment to facilitate timely discharge from stroke unit.
- Provide evidence based intensive stroke rehabilitation in the inpatient setting to improve patient outcomes.
- Run group therapy classes on the stroke unit.
