Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Patient Pathway Coordinator in the Department of Urology. You will have the unique opportunity to support and gain experience within the Specialist Service.

The post holder will provide a pivotal administrative service to consultants and their clinical teams. They will work flexibly with the other team members within the Clinical Support Unit and provide a professional, efficient administrative service to patients. The main function of the role will be to coordinate and schedule the patient pathway, from referral to first outpatient appointment, through diagnostics, treatment planning, treatment, and follow-up, highlighting any potential delays in the pathway and ensuring accurate data collection to support the process.

This post is 1.0 WTE to cover Monday to Friday and between the hours of 8am-5pm.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an independent, enthusiastic and well organised person to join our busy team. The role of the Patient Pathway Coordinator is to work closely with clinicians and Patient Pathway Lead to ensure that the care pathway of all patients is effectively managed.

The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and organising skills, attention to detail, IT skills and ability to communicate across all levels. The successful candidate will be providing support to the clinical teams and ensuring continuation of service at all times.

Job description

This role will primarily be focussed on supporting the Clinical Team within Urology.

Duties will include: typing of correspondence, chasing results, cashing up clinics, managing department inbox, fully utilising clinics, recording and validating activity on EPIC, and liaising with internal stakeholders.
