Job summary
This is a full-time post comprising of 10 Programmed Activities (PAs), covering maternity leave for 6 months in the first instance. It comprises of weekly OPD clinics and2 regular theatre sessions. The main base will be Frimley Park Hospital but there are clinics at other sites within Frimley Health. The post holder will join our on-call rota which currently requires a 1 PA renumeration (included above).
The successful applicant will be a committed clinician and have a track record of excellent clinical service delivery, service improvement, teaching, training, and other qualities as identified in the person specification.
Main duties of the job
The busy ENT department at Frimley Park Hospital is based in Outpatients with operating in both DSU theatres and Minor operations at Frimley Park Hospital. Although currently there is no availability to operate at Heatherwood this maybe a requirement in the future. The on-call covers both Frimley Park and Basingstoke sites of the North Hampshire Hospitals Trust.The successful applicant will be joining a team of 6 consultants, 1 Specialty doctor and a team of registrars and Resident doctors replacing 1 Associate Specialist. You will be joining at an exciting time as we are currently developing our own Audiology and Balance service within the Frimley Park department, providing a comprehensive service to the wider community. We hope that you will contribute to this development and the team. The post holder will have a job plan comprising of general clinics and surgical sessions.

The role will include:
1:7on-call rota currently butwilltogo to 1:8as soon as possible.
One half day per month is dedicated toClinical Governance,Audit and Teaching during which time all routine work is suspended. All staff are expected to attend except for those providing emergency cover.
All members of the Department are encouraged to take study leave and will be expected to fulfil CPD and revalidation requirements. Teamwork andgood communicationskills are essential.It is expected that every member of the Department will play a full part in formal and informal teaching of medical and other staff, and this is recognized as part ofSupportingProfessional Activities.
There may be a need to Move theatres.On-call will depend on the successful candidate and review with the team but currently will compromise of 1 week day evening/night alternate weeks (to be arranged) and 1:7 weekends (Friday to Tuesday 4days). This will reduce to 1.8 and become a three night on-call (Friday to Monday am) as the department expands with an appropriate reduction in PAs.
