Job summary
This post is based in the inpatient and day treatment service based at the Aspen Centre. The post holder will work with inpatients, day patients and outpatients. This will include new patient assessments (predominantly of those with diabetes, other medical complications or ARFID), outpatient follow-ups, admissions to the ward and day treatment service, ward work on the inpatient unit and medical cover for the day treatment service.
Protected time will be allocated within the job plan for CPD and audit. Training will be available and there will be opportunities to be involved in research.
It is envisaged that the post holder will work 6 programmed activities over 3 days. Following appointment, a meeting will take place no later than three months from appointment with the Medical Lead to review and revise the job plan and objectives of the post holder.
Main duties of the job
This is a part-time post (6 Programmed Activities) with participation on the middle grade out of hours rota with a frequency of less than 1 in 8. This is a non-residential, second on call rota for general adult psychiatry and will be remunerated at 3% availability supplement. There is no daytime on call commitment.
The main responsibilities of this post will be to support the consultants in providing high quality services to patients with eating disorders. The postholder will assist the consultants in all aspects of the service, including the provision of emergency care.
