As Infrastructure, Projects and Assets Manager, you will lead a broad and important remit across Neighbourhood Services, bringing together infrastructure capital projects, asset development and operational compliance. Reporting to the Assistant Director Neighbourhood Services, you will oversee the management and delivery of projects and programmes linked to parks, allotments and other assets, alongside compliance for the Council’s Depot and Waste Transfer Station.

You will manage key service areas including parks development, allotments, trees, the Depot, Waste Transfer Station and associated operational assets. This includes leading staff, managing budgets and resources, maintaining health and safety standards, using performance information to drive improvement, and supporting service plans, policies and wider strategies.

About You:

We are looking for someone who can balance strategic planning with hands-on operational delivery. You will be confident managing a varied workload, leading people, resolving problems, working collaboratively and communicating clearly. You should have strong knowledge of project management, asset management, current health and safety legislation and risk assessment processes, together with experience of managing resources and service performance.

Essential requirements include a full driving licence, WAMITAB Level 4 Certificate of Technical Competence in Managing Transfer of Hazardous Waste or working towards, Chartered Management Institute membership or working towards, and a relevant leadership, management, coaching or mentoring qualification, or equivalent significant experience.

The role requires flexibility, including working outside normal office hours, evening meetings, weekends or bank holidays where required, and participation in an on-call rota. The post also involves driving and relevant DVLA licence checks will be required.

This is an opportunity to make a practical contribution across a wide Neighbourhood Services portfolio, influencing both day-to-day operational delivery and longer-term improvements to important Council assets, facilities and services.
