Job summary

We are looking for a nurse associate/ trainee nurse associate/ health care assistant to join our friendly and supportive team of GPs, Nurse practitioners, Practice Nurses, Healthcare Assistants and non-clinical team members at Wragby Surgery.

Main duties of the job

About the role

Your responsibilities and rate of pay - will depend on your current level of qualifications and experience. We will provide the necessary training and support to further develop your skills if you are interested.

Phlebotomy/ venepuncture

BP checks, height, weight, BMI, urinalysis and smoking status

Prepare specimens for investigation by the pathology laboratory

Prepare and maintain environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions according to Infection Control guidelines and undertake infection control monitoring.

NHS health checks

New patient health checks

Recording ECG

Maintain accurate and complete records and other documentation

Initial appointment for long term condition annual reviews including diabetes

Work with the practice population and wider community to promote healthy living and encourage uptake of services.

Health promotion advice for healthy eating, exercise, alcohol consumption and smoking

Be aware of and recognise issues relating to safeguarding for both adult and child and reports any concerns to the appropriate person

Perform routine nursing tasks such as:

Dressings and wound care

Monitor and manage maintenance of stock and equipment

Assist in the provision of minor surgery and surgical procedures

Act as chaperone and assist patients
