You will work within a friendly multi-disciplinary team providing specialist mental health care and support to young people. Red Kite View is a Tier 4 Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) inpatient unit, supporting young people aged 13 to 18 years. This role will work across both the General Adolescent Unit (GAU) and the Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
This is a rewarding opportunity to develop your skills within a specialist CAMHS setting. The environment can be both challenging and highly rewarding, offering a diverse range of clinical experiences. Experience of working with young people and/or in mental health settings is desirable, but not essential, as support and development will be provided.
Based in Leeds, you will occasionally be required to travel within the Trust for training and service-related activities. As we provide a flexible service that meets the needs of young people, there may also be an expectation to participate in evening and weekend working.
Main duties of the job
Interviews will be held on the mornings of Friday the 20th and 27th of November.
This is a key role within a busy and dedicated team. You will be responsible for delivering Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions, facilitating therapeutic groups, and contributing to the wider multidisciplinary treatment programme. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about working with young people, committed to recovery-focused practice, and passionate about helping young people engage in meaningful occupations to improve their health and wellbeing.
As a Band 5 Occupational Therapist, you will work as part of the multidisciplinary team to provide assessment and intervention for young people accessing inpatient CAMHS services across the General Adolescent Unit (GAU) and Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU).
You will support young people to engage in meaningful occupations and therapeutic activities that promote recovery, independence, wellbeing, and participation in daily life. Working under the supervision of a senior Occupational Therapist, you will contribute to the planning, delivery, and evaluation of individual and group-based interventions.
Job description
The successful candidate will complete Occupational Therapy assessments, contribute to care planning and risk management, maintain accurate clinical records, and work collaboratively with young people, families, carers, and partner agencies. You will also play an active role in delivering the therapeutic programme, facilitating groups and activities, and supporting the development of a recovery-focused inpatient environment.
