(2 x THPD posts. Each post is 0.2 WTE ie 2 sessions per week)

Thames Valley Primary Care Training Hub is recruiting to two Training Hub Programme Director (THPD) positions.

THPDs work with and support the Thames Valley Training Hub Associate Dean, Training Hub Lead, Head of Primary Care School & RegionalPrimary Care Dean in leading the delivery of a wide range of functions. Whilst both roles will have responsibilities across the whole of Thames Valley, one of the roles is likely also to focus on liaison with primary care colleagues in Buckinghamshire and the other with colleagues in Berkshire. As part of the THPD role candidates will need to continue to be on the Performers List and remain active in clinical practice.

NB: Owing to current organisational change processes, both roles are being recruited on a fixed-term basis until 31 March 2027. We are hopeful that these posts will go on to become substantive following conclusion of current organisational change process.

Main duties of the job

The postholder will support the Associate Dean and Primary Care Dean, and work across the spectrum of health and where relevant, social care, within the context of a team, so that the provision of education reflects changing service models. Whilst working within the Thames Valley Training Hub the postholder will also support the delivery of the Integrated Care Board's wider objectives, alongside neighbourhood and Primary Care Network workforce strategies.

The postholder will need travel to around the Thames Valley region when attending development days, educator conferences and meetings.

About us

NHS England has a wide range of statutory functions, responsibilities and regulatory powers. These are focused on supporting the wider NHS to deliver high quality care, as well as doing those things that are best done once for the whole NHS.

Our staff bring expertise across clinical, operational, commissioning, technology, data science, cyber security, software engineering, education, and commercial specialisms -- enabling us to design and deliver high-quality NHS services.

In March 2025, the Government announced that NHS England and the Department of Health and Social Care will increasingly merge functions, ultimately leading to NHS England being fully integrated into the department.

If you currently work within the NHS and if successful at interview, we will initiate an Inter Authority Transfer (IAT) via the Electronic Staff Record (ESR).This retrieves key data from your current or previous NHS employer to support onboarding, including competency status, Continuous Service Dates (CSD), and annual leave entitlement. You may opt out at any stage of the process.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in our offices.

We cannot offer visa sponsorship for any vacancies.
