Permanent Part-Time GP Opportunity - 4 Sessions Per Week

Are you looking for the benefits of working in a small, community-focused practice while enjoying the support and opportunities of a larger organisation?

At North Petherton Surgery, we're seeking a motivated and compassionate GP to join our friendly and supportive team for 4 sessions per week. With a patient list of approximately 6,500, you'll have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with patients and provide truly personalised care.

We are proud to be part of Symphony Healthcare Services, Somerset's largest provider of GP services. This means you'll benefit from the close-knit atmosphere of a local practice while having access to the expertise, shared learning, innovation and professional development opportunities available across a network of 19 practices.

Why Join Us?

  • Friendly, welcoming and collaborative team culture
  • Strong focus on staff wellbeing, learning and development
  • Opportunity to know your patients and community well
  • Clinical and professional support from a wider network of practices
  • Flexibility and work-life balance in a part-time role
  • Access to shared expertise, innovation and career development through Symphony Healthcare Services

The sessional rate is offered based on previous experience.

Main duties of the job

As a Symphony GP, you would undertake all the clinical duties associated with a GP working in primary care, without the responsibilities and risks associated with being a partner. We can offer opportunities depending on your experience and the level of responsibility you take on at the practice.

All GPs working for us are paid as employees, unlike Partners, which means less risk for you and more time to focus on patient care.

We put patients first, allowing GPs to work flexibly according to need, so contributing to areas such as QOF, QI and research projects providing a huge amount of variety to the role.

This would be an ideal role for a newly qualified GP, with full peer support provided.

Job description

Symphony differentiates GP roles to provide a greater range of options for GPs, to enable career progression at all levels, and to support recruitment and retention.

See attached Job description and person specification for a full breakdown of the role and responsibilities.

Providing NHS services is at the heart of what we do. Our vision is to ensure that primary care is sustainable for patients and practices in Somerset and we aim to be a national exemplar for primary care provision.

We work closely with our practice teams to grow, enhance and transform patient care and working practices, with innovation and technology at our core.

Symphony welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and underrepresented groups. When undertaking recruitment and selection for our services. We are committed to equality of opportunity for all.

Symphony offers many fantastic employee benefits, including the option to join a NHS or NEST pension scheme, plus varied salary sacrifice options (see attached poster), plus generous annual leave, flexible working from day one of employment and home working options where appropriate to the role.
