We are a high achieving, forward thinking and well organised teaching Practice. The team consists of 6 partners, 9 salaried GP’s, a Practice Pharmacy Team, Practice Based Physiotherapists, 9 nurses and HCA’s and a capable and competent administration support team.

The Practice aims to deliver high-quality care to over 17,800 patients, using SystmOne. We work from a purpose-built surgery, hosting an extensive range of extended services. As a training practice, there is an active undergraduate and post graduate teaching programme in place. We are part of the Rushcliffe PCN and are a high achieving Practice with full QoF and local enhanced service achievements. We recently received an ‘OUTSTANDING’ CQC accreditation.

If you are a GP who is keen to work with a vibrant team, focused on providing the best patient care possible, then we would like to meet you!

This role is based at Castle Healthcare Practice, where all weekly sessions will be delivered. The post holder will be employed by Rushcliffe PCN/PartnersHealth under its terms and conditions of employment. Applications are welcomed from newly qualified GP’s as well as experienced GP’s, as the newly qualified within 2 years restriction has now been removed. Our PCN is very supportive to all ARRS roles and will support you to work by providing an experienced Clinical Director as your mentor, as well you receiving mentorship from a clinical lead within the Practice, if required.

The PCN can offer a competitive salary, based on experience and access to the NHS pension scheme. We require that applicants have already completed their GP training and have the right to work in the UK, as our PCN cannot currently support visa applications.

Clinical responsibilities:

  • In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make him/her-self available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion
  • Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation
  • Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
  • Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
  • In consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health
  • Providing counselling and health education
  • Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate
  • Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
  • Collecting data for audit purposes
  • Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible)
  • Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate
  • In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
