Medical Receptionist – Mat Leave Cover, Westmuir Medical CentreGP Practice

Due to forthcoming maternity leave, we are looking to recruit an experienced Medical Receptionist to join our team.  The post will initially be on a Temporary basis to assist over the next 12 months, however we are happy to consider a permanent post on successful completion.

We are looking for a cheerful, efficient and enthusiastic individual/s to work within our busy practice team and support our surgeries.
The ability to multi-task, remain calm under pressure and think on your feet is essential.
Experience of working in a reception environment is essential. Experience in our EMIS and DOCMAN systems would also be an advantage. Experience of touch or audio typing is also desirable.

Duties will include:
Offering assistance to the Practice team whilst projecting a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone
• Receiving, assisting and directing patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way
• Dealing with administrative queries and requests from patients/clinicians
• Arranging appointments via our clinical software
• Giving test results/messages to patients
• Dealing with Prescription requests
• Processing patient registrations
• Ensuring patient details are up to date
